Department Secretary

The ADOR Department Secretary is required to keep all records relating to departmental hearings, proceedings, and other related meetings as required by law. (Reference: §40-2-3, Code of Alabama 1975.) In addition, the department secretary serves as the ADOR certifying official for rules promulgated in accordance with Chapter 22, Title 41, Code of Alabama 1975.

Michael D. Gamble

Mike Gamble, a certified public manager, began his career with the ADOR in 1992and is the Director of ADOR's Tax Policy and Research Division.

The Tax Policy and Research Division prepares fiscal impact analyses on proposed legislation, prepares annual revenue estimates, develops statistical summaries and analyses, and develops revenue-related legislation. The division analyzes current and new legislation that affects the Administrative Procedure Act of the Code of Alabama to ensure proper adherence to these regulatory provisions. The division also assists in establishing new policies and procedures to perfect the processing of rules throughout the department with an objective to continue to improve the overall effectiveness of the agency and ensure the protection of the public health, safety, and welfare.

Gamble, a native of Huntsville, Ala., received a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the Auburn University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Troy University.
