24-Hour-Per-Day Income Tax Refund Hotline Help
1.800.558.3912
The refund hotline is a simple, easy way to check on your Alabama income tax refund. To access the hotline, all you need is a touchtone phone and a copy of your current year tax return.
How does the hotline work?
With a copy of your return in hand, call the refund hotline at 1-800-558-3912. You are asked to enter, by pressing the numbers on the phone keypad, the form type, the first social security number, the filing status, and the whole dollar amount of the refund. After this information is entered and verified, a message will inform you of the status of your refund. Simple, quick, and easy!
NOTE: INCORRECT INFORMATION MEANS AN INCORRECT ANSWER.
All of the information you enter by phone must match all the information in the Revenue Department's computer system exactly, or you will be told we do not have your return.
What if you are told the Department does not have your return?
- DO NOT PANIC.
- Did you enter the information correctly? If you are not sure, try the refund hotline again.
- If you did enter the information correctly, has a sufficient amount of time passed for your mailed return to be entered into the Department's computer system? Please allow enough time for your return to be entered into the system before calling back. The Department monitors the time it takes for a return to be entered onto the Department's computer system and adjusts the time in the messages accordingly. The closer to April 15th you file your return, the longer it will take for it to be entered into the system.
