INFORMATION FOR SOFTWARE VENDORS Alabama Electronic Filing Program

SOFTWARE VENDOR INFORMATION

To participate in the Alabama Electronic Filing Program, a Software Developer must be approved with the IRS in order to submit linked or unlinked returns. Please refer to the IRS Publication 3112 for information on how to become an Authorized e-file Provider

If you are interested in participating in the Alabama Modernized Electronic Filing (MeF) program, please see the information below on how to obtain the Software Developer Intent to Participate and Compliance Agreement.

After your application is approved, you will receive an user ID and password to access the secured website that contains the schemas, business rules, handbooks and tests for each program.

Individual MeF (Forms 40 and 40NR)

Please contact the Individual MeF Coordinator by phone or email to obtain the Form ESA-I Software Developer Intent to Participate and Compliance Agreement for Individual MeF Returns. A completed and signed agreement must be received by the Department by November 13, 2015 in order for the software to be approved for tax year 2015. Any agreement received after this date will not be accepted.

Note: A separate application is required for each product for the Individual MeF program.

Business MeF

Form ESA-B - Software Developer Intent to Participate and Compliance Agreement for Business MEF Returns  is now available.  A separate ESA-B should be filed per development team for each software vendor.   Submit the completed from to corporate.efile@revenue.alabama.gov prior to submitting test or production returns.
