Deputy Commissioner of Revenue
The Deputy Commissioner of Revenue’s role includes a myriad of duties and activities which are positioned to bring to fruition the plans and goals of the Commissioner of Revenue. These activities include, but are not limited to: the development and communication of major tax policies; the creation and implementation of actions which increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the Revenue Department; liaison functions with the Governor and governor’s staff; and interactions with various legislators, business groups, and professional associations.
Donald J. Graham began his career with the Alabama Department of Revenue in 1986 and, with more than 30 years of experience, has held numerous management positions within the department. Prior to being named Deputy Commissioner, Don served as Director of the Collection Services Division and Assistant Director of Entity Registration and Processing Services.
As Deputy Commissioner, Don is responsible for overseeing Collection Services, Entity Registration and Processing Services, and Information Technology.
A native of Titus, Ala., Don received a degree in accounting. He and his wife Kim have two sons and one granddaughter.
