Secretary of the Department of Revenue
The Secretary of the Department of Revenue is required to keep all records relating to departmental hearings, transactions, proceedings, and findings of the department and to perform other duties as may be required by law from time to time. The secretary also serves as the department’s certifying official for rules promulgated in accordance with the Alabama Administrative Procedure Act, Chapter 22, Title 41, Code of Alabama 1975.
Kelley Gillikin began her career with the Department of Revenue in 2011, serving for six years as Assistant Counsel. In August 2017, she was appointed to the position of Acting Director of the Alabama Department of Revenue’s Tax Policy and Governmental Affairs Division.
Kelley is an Alabama native, primarily from the Decatur and Dothan areas. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama in Birmingham and was awarded her Juris Doctor degree by the University of Tennessee College of Law.
