TO: License Plate Issuing Officials
SUBJECT: Redesigned Distinctive License Plates for Issuance Beginning March 1, 2018
The Athens State University license plates have been redesigned and will be available for issuance beginning March 1, 2018. Please note all personalized and pre-numbered plates featuring the design must be ordered on the Plate Reservation and Ordering System (PROS) beginning March 1, 2018. At that time, please remember to remove all Athens State University license plates with the old design from your shelves and retain them for audit purposes.
The tag numbering schemes for the license plates may be found on the Motor Vehicle Division website at https://revenue.alabama.gov/motor-vehicle/ under “Reference & Statistics” then “Registration File Information.”
