Effective September 1, 2017, the Business and License Tax Division, Severance and License Section, will no longer administer the Automotive Dismantler and Parts Recycler licenses nor the Buyer’s Identification (BID) cards. This administrative function will be transferred to the Department’s Motor Vehicle Division. Upon the transfer of this function, MyAlabamaTaxes (MAT) will no longer be accessible to file new or renewal applications. However, you may continue to access prior year licenses or cards, if applicable.
Persons wishing to apply for automotive dismantler and parts recycler licenses or BID cards for license year 2017-2018 will need to visit the Motor Vehicle Division’s online registration portal at https://mvlicense.mvtrip.alabama.gov/. All automotive dismantler licenses and BID card applications must be submitted via the Motor Vehicle Division’s online portal.
You may begin submitting your 2017-2018 applications on September 1, 2017.
Note: Applications for Alabama Automotive Dismantler and Parts Recycler licenses must be received by October 31, 2017, or the applicant will be subject to a 15% penalty plus applicable interest.
