WHO is eligible?

The Department of Revenue seeks qualified candidates for employment who have a degree in accounting or another business-related field such as business administration, public administration, finance, marketing, or management. WHAT do employees do?

Job responsibilities at the Department of Revenue may include but are not limited to administering and distributing taxes, auditing returns for compliance, processing assessments, processing and reviewing returns, assisting taxpayers, working with county tax officials, or collecting taxes.

4. Submit an official transcript for each accredited postsecondary academic institution attended to transcripts@personnel.alabama.gov

5. A job announcement may specify that a written exam is required.  If a job is on continuous recruitment and requires a written exam, the written exam will be administered several times a year.  If a job is on current recruitment and requires a written exam, the exam will be administered shortly after the closing date.  More detailed information is available HERE

6. The State Personnel Department refers the top ten most qualified (highest scoring) candidates, including the names of those with tied scores, to the Department of Revenue for further review.
