All residents of Alabama who are vehicle owners and members of the Alabama Association of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc may purchase license plates in this category.

Required Documents

Registrants who applied for the plate category through the Department pre-commitment system will have a redemption voucher which serves as evidence that the required documentation has been presented to the Department.

All other registrants desiring to purchase a license plate in this category must present to the license plate issuing official a card distributed by the sorority denoting the individual’s membership in the sorority. In lieu of a membership card, the registrant must present a letter signed by the chapter president, on the chapter’s letterhead, stating that the individual is a member of the sorority. Because membership in Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. is for lifetime, it is not necessary to present these proof documents each year.

Registration Fees:

  • Fees are paid annually.
  • Registration: $23.00- $890.00 depending on the type of vehicle being registered
  • Additional fees: $50.00 for pre-numbered or personalized plate

  • Sponsoring Organization: Alabama Association of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.
  • The net proceeds will be used to provide scholarships and monies toward community based projects in the State of Alabama.
  • Primary Tag Type(s): ZP (Pre-numbered)
  • Secondary Tag Type(s): 02 (Personalized)
  • Personalized license plates in this category are transferable, at the option of the transferor, to the transferor’s spouse or child upon payment of the transfer fees.
  • This plate may be displayed upon the following types of vehicles:
  • private passenger automobiles
    • pickup trucks
    • motorcycles
    • pleasure motor vehicles (i.e., recreational vehicles)
  • The license plate design changes every five (5) years.
