Only Alabama residents who are vehicle owners and members of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. may purchase license plates in this category.

Registrants desiring to purchase a license plate in this category must present to the license plate issuing official a card distributed by the fraternity denoting the individual’s membership in the fraternity. Because membership in Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. is for lifetime, it is not necessary to present these proof documents each year.

The plates may be personalized.

The plates are not transferable between vehicle owners.

This plate may be displayed upon the following types of vehicles:

  • private passenger automobiles
  • pickup trucks
  • motorcycles
  • pleasure motor vehicles (i.e., recreational vehicles)

The license plate design changes every five (5) years.

Individual plates are ordered On Demand through the Plate Reservation and Ordering System (PROS).


Fees are paid annually.

  • Registration: $23.00- $890.00 depending on the type of vehicle being registered
  • Additional fees: $50.00 for pre-numbered or personalized plate
  • The net proceeds are distributed to Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. to be used by chapters within the state of Alabama to support scholarships, tutorial programs, and educational mentoring programs.
