All residents of Alabama who are owners of privately owned travel trailers may purchase plates in this category.

No documentation required to be presented by the registrant prior to purchasing this plate.

The plates may not be personalized.

The plates are not transferable between vehicle owners.

This plate be displayed upon privately owned travel trailers that are not operated for hire, lease or rental.  A “tiny home” is normally considered travel trailer as defined in 40-12-240 and must be titled and registered accordingly.  If a “tiny home” meets the definition of a manufactured home as provided in 32-20-2, it may be titled as a manufactured home.

The license plate design changes every five (5) years.

The registration fees are distributed to the Public Road and Bridge Fund as well as cities and counties.
