TO: License Plate Issuing Officials
SUBJECT: Redesigned Distinctive License Plate for Issuance Beginning December 1, 2017
The Firefighter license plate has been redesigned for issuance beginning December 1, 2017. An initial order will be delivered to licensing officials’ offices, based on the number of plates issued to residents of the county. Additional orders must be placed through the Plate Reservation and Ordering System (PROS) beginning December 1, 2017. Please remember to remove all
license plates with the old design from your shelves and retain them for audit purposes beginning December 1, 2017.
The tag numbering schemes for this license plate are listed below and may also be found on the Motor Vehicle Division website at https://revenue.alabama.gov/motor-vehicle/ under “Reference & Statistics” then “Registration File Information.”
